TL;DR
Aircraft Structural Technician - all levels (Aerospace): Building and assembling mechanical structures and related components for the Neutron reusable launch vehicle with an accent on aircraft structural assembly, precision tooling, and regulated manufacturing. Focus on integrating mechanical hardware, working in tight and elevated spaces, and maintaining quality and safety across production operations.

Location: Middle River, Maryland, United States; onsite at the Space Structures Complex production facility

Base pay range: $20–$55 USD per hour, depending on level, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

What you will do

  • Build and assemble mechanical structures and related components for the Neutron launch vehicle.
  • Integrate mechanical hardware used in launch vehicle structures.
  • Use hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools with precision.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and organization and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Work across production floors, equipment areas, and field locations in varied conditions.
  • Stand, walk, climb, lift, and perform repetitive motions throughout shifts that may exceed eight hours.

Requirements

  • Technician I: 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, technical repair, mechanical maintenance, or a similar role in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Technician II: 5+ years of relevant experience in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Senior Technician: 8+ years of relevant experience in a highly regulated manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools.
  • For U.S. office roles, candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification.
  • 2+ years of experience in the new space or aerospace industry.
