Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Merrimack, NH or Kalamazoo, MI, United States; onsite role

What you will do

• Design mechanical systems and prepare fabrication drawings, bills of materials, schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Support project teams throughout development, fabrication, machine build, and testing.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and contribute to building capable engineering teams.
• Participate in client meetings and internal engineering design reviews.
• Develop concepts and prepare project proposal content, including effort and equipment cost estimates.
• Help technicians troubleshoot machine-build problems and develop solutions.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Experience indirectly coaching and guiding junior team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, robots, and related mechanical systems.
• Experience using CAD packages; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee due to export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mathcad, Ansys, or equivalent finite element analysis tools.
• Experience designing automation mechanisms, complex electromechanical systems, or high-precision mechanical solutions.
