Senior Software Development Engineer - Fullstack (Python/React)

Location: Full-time onsite in McLean, Virginia, or Mountain View, California, United States; five days per week in the office.

Annual base salary: $190,978–$231,050 USD for Mountain View, CA.

What you will do

• Design and implement significant areas of the Person platform, including canonical identity records and rules for creating, merging, and splitting records.
• Build end-to-end full-stack features spanning person data models, backend services, Backend for Frontend APIs, and member-facing experiences.
• Collaborate with design and cross-functional engineering teams to understand how person data is consumed and represented across systems.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, cross-team planning, and technical decision-making.
• Set standards for code quality, testing, observability, incident response, and platform reliability.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design critiques, pairing, and AI-augmented development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional full-stack software development experience in production environments.
• 7+ years of experience with at least one backend language such as Python, Go, or Java and modern frameworks.
• 7+ years of professional frontend application development experience with technologies such as Angular or React.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and performant systems handling sensitive personal data.
• Onsite work five days per week at the McLean or Mountain View office is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, React, and Backend for Frontend APIs.
• Experience with identity resolution, entity matching, deduplication, record merging and splitting, or data normalization at scale.
• Expertise with REST or GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL, graph or NoSQL databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience with caching, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures such as Kafka or SNS/SQS, and cloud-native patterns.
• Experience in regulated or high-assurance domains such as government, financial services, or healthcare.
