Senior Software Engineer I (Data Engineering)

Location: Hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week in the San Francisco, California office

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 annual salary range for San Francisco residents, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and improve a data platform serving internal and external clients.
• Develop and maintain internal user interfaces for interacting with data.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to define requirements and deliver software solutions.
• Implement features, conduct code reviews and unit testing, and manage production deployments.
• Advocate for appropriate adoption of modern data-engineering technologies.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of development experience with object-oriented languages such as TypeScript, C#, or Java.
• Experience with Python for data tasks and frontend toolkits such as React and TailwindCSS.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures, including medallion architecture and data lakes.
• Experience with private markets or financial-services data, PostgreSQL, SQL, cloud platforms such as AWS, Git, GitHub, and Agile tools such as JIRA.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, data orchestration, application deployments, and code quality.
• Hands-on backend and frontend coding, with the ability to take changes from planning through deployment.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating legacy systems to modern technology stacks.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures using WebSockets or Kafka.
• Experience leading offshore or nearshore teams.
• Experience with large language models and agentic workflows.
