Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles, CA; HQ in El Segundo. A hybrid work schedule is also mentioned.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end development and deployment of full-stack product features using Python, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Develop high-performance GraphQL queries and mutations and design PostgreSQL data models for complex industrial processes.
• Build and maintain scalable services on AWS for multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to automate boilerplate, refactor legacy logic, and accelerate delivery.
• Write design specifications, UML diagrams, and system-flow documentation for engineering work.
• Drive modular architecture, reliability, and comprehensive testing with Pytest and Jest.

Requirements

• 6+ years of technical experience building and scaling production-grade software.
• Expert-level Python skills, including ORM technologies such as SQLAlchemy and asynchronous processing.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and deploying multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Strong GraphQL and API design experience, with knowledge of Domain-Driven Design or event-driven systems.
• Active use of AI coding assistants and interest in solving hardware and industrial problems with software.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or CDK.
• Experience building manufacturing tools or working in high-stakes industrial environments.
• Experience writing complex ETL processes for industrial data.
