Senior Manager, Payments Risk (Fintech)

Location: Remote

Salary: $130,000–$178,000 annually

What you will do

• Own the Sift and Plaid Signal risk platforms, including rules, models, thresholds, score tuning, and feedback loops.
• Design and implement identity and fraud controls that reduce fraudulent activity while limiting friction for legitimate users.
• Own loss, returns, and fraud metrics and report measurable progress.
• Lead risk-reduction programs with ACH Operations and drive them to measurable outcomes.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver risk controls and communicate data-driven recommendations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in payments risk or fraud, with ownership of loss and fraud outcomes.
• Strong hands-on data analysis skills, including writing Python and SQL and working directly with a data warehouse.
• Experience as a player-coach who combines individual contribution with leadership of an analyst or small team.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to investigate complex risk problems deeply.
• Practical experience using LLMs and modern AI tooling for investigations, analysis, or controls.

Nice to have

• Experience leading a payments risk or fraud team at a fintech or payments company.
• Experience at a fintech operating an ACH product.
