Engineering Manager, Firmware (Embedded Systems)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Primarily in-office work is required at the Santa Clara office.

hirify.global is developing enterprise all-flash storage technology based on Direct Flash Module firmware and advanced NAND and SSD technologies.

What you will do

• Define and execute the firmware strategy, roadmap, and feature priorities for DirectFlash SSD Modules.
• Lead the design and delivery of high-performance firmware focused on PCIe functionality, NAND media management, and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of PCIe- and NAND-related features, including planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and production releases.
• Own PCIe bring-up and hardware integration, including LTSSM, power management, hot-plug support, link performance, and error handling.
• Lead system-level debugging across firmware, drivers, and hardware while establishing diagnostics, logging, and root-cause practices.
• Mentor firmware engineers and lead Agile practices such as sprint planning, backlog management, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven technical leadership in embedded software development or firmware management for complex, high-performance systems.
• Extensive hands-on experience with embedded architecture, firmware design, and C/C++ programming.
• Strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces, storage technologies, SSD controllers, or NAND flash media management.
• Experience managing the full product development cycle using Agile or Scrum, including scope, dependencies, and delivery schedules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with Hardware, Software, and Executive stakeholders.
