Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the Hinge Android mobile application.
• Implement product features that improve user engagement and the mobile user experience.
• Triage, debug, and resolve software issues affecting application stability and performance.
• Contribute to codebase health, engineering best practices, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, project managers, designers, data engineers, backend engineers, and QA analysts.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin experience and understanding of Android SDKs and frameworks.
• Experience publishing at least one application on Google Play.
• Solid software development fundamentals and ability to write efficient, maintainable code.
• Ability to execute independently when working as the only Android engineer on a project and navigate ambiguity.
• Clear communication skills, ownership, attention to detail, and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Nice to have

• Java experience in the context of Android development.
