Android Engineer (Android)

What you will do

• Customize the hirify.global camera experience for the Android platform in collaboration with product and design teams.
• Prototype new features and redesign existing ones.
• Build intuitive Android interfaces using UI/UX and design principles.
• Develop consumer-facing mobile products with a focus on performance and quality.
• Maintain and improve complex application codebases and API designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or 4+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of object-oriented software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience building Android applications in Java or Kotlin with the Android SDK.
• Experience with custom Android views, multithreading, memory management, caching, data persistence, I/O, and mobile networking.
• Experience understanding large and complex codebases and applying maintainable API design techniques.
• Experience with Android networking APIs and frameworks such as Retrofit and OkHTTP.

Nice to have

• Published applications on the Google Play Store.
• Experience with functional programming paradigms or a functional language.
• Experience with NDK/JNI, C/C++, video processing, or OpenGL.
