Physical Design Engineer Intern

What you will do

• Contribute to the design, development, and physical implementation of digital and mixed-signal ICs.
• Develop and review synthesis and P&R SDC constraints and execute synthesis and P&R flows.
• Perform logical equivalence checks, power analysis, and IR drop analysis.
• Implement DFT and analyze related metrics.
• Work under the supervision of senior digital and physical designers.
• Collaborate with CAD and technology development groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on digital design or VLSI coursework.
• Basic knowledge of the ASIC development process and digital design techniques.
• Ability to follow design specifications and procedures and complete tasks against project milestones.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SCAN, IDDQ, delay fault, MBIST, and LBIST DFT modes.
• Experience with Verilog or SystemVerilog behavioral and RTL coding.
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, USB, or PMBUS interfaces.
• Scripting or automation experience with TCL, Python, or C/C++.
