Principal Electrical Engineer

What you will do

• Develop and qualify electrical designs for solid-state control and protection components and systems.
• Define design details, including stress and tolerance analysis, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.
• Lead testing of single-phase, three-phase AC, and DC protection systems.
• Develop and execute component and system qualification plans.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, select suppliers, and collaborate with contract manufacturers and internal production teams.
• Mentor development engineers and provide technical leadership throughout project planning and execution.

Requirements

• MS in Electrical Engineering, or BS in Electrical Engineering with equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of hands-on experience designing analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed-signal systems.
• Expert knowledge of current sensing technologies and their implementation for protection and metering.
• Experience with embedded firmware or programmable logic, component placement, and circuit card stack-up design.
• Knowledge of power electronics topologies and product compliance, including EMC and product safety approvals.
• Ability to work independently, experiment, manage ambiguity, and collaborate across teams.
