Senior Aerodynamics Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Getafe Area, Spain; hybrid working model when possible, with on-site facilities and collaboration requirements.

What you will do

• Design external aircraft geometries and build aerodynamic databases covering steady and unsteady loads, performance, stability, and handling qualities.
• Lead CFD simulation campaigns and participate in experimental wind tunnel testing.
• Perform safe separation analyses for external stores, cargo integration, and complex aircraft maneuvers.
• Develop and maintain aerodynamic methods, Python and Matlab scripts, and technology roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Flight Physics, Structures, Flight Control, Loads, Mass Properties, and external aerospace research organizations.
• Deliver aerodynamic solutions across the aircraft lifecycle while meeting time, cost, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on aerodynamics experience with military transport or combat aircraft, including shape design and characterization, CFD, wind tunnel testing, or safe separation.
• Strong knowledge of aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and flight mechanics.
• Advanced/C1 English is required as the global working language.
• Experience in civil aircraft aerodynamics is valuable; knowledge of Performance, Loads, or Flight Mechanics is an advantage.

Nice to have

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering focused on Aerodynamics or Fluid Dynamics.
• Experience with numerical aerodynamic prediction tools, high-performance meshing, and solver execution.
• Experience in aerodynamic shape design and optimization or in building databases from experimental and CFD data.
• Skills in Python, Matlab, or CATIA.
• Professional working knowledge of German or French.
