Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin/Next.js)

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $176,000–$183,500 per year for the New Jersey/New York base salary range.

What you will do

• Build and operate distributed backend services supporting ordering, production, inventory, and fulfillment workflows.
• Develop complex web applications using real-time operational data for planners, buyers, and floor operators.
• Design event-driven architectures with message queues and streaming systems.
• Own features end-to-end, including data models, services, APIs, and responsive user interfaces.
• Work with public cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, and Kubernetes.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintain the operational health of shipped services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems across backend and frontend.
• Strong system design skills and experience owning features end-to-end.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM language, with Kotlin used primarily.
• Proficiency with a modern frontend framework; Next.js and TypeScript are used.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical discussion skills.
