Senior Fullstack Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Location: Remote from the USA, restricted to residents of CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Hybrid work is available from offices in Austin, Texas, or Tampa, Florida. hirify.global cannot hire within the city limits of Chicago. An in-person interview may be required.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, or Washington.

What you will do

• Design and build REST and GraphQL APIs and serving layers for data-intensive product experiences.
• Develop scalable Java and Kotlin backend services with API-first architecture, performance, reliability, and extensibility.
• Build data-driven products including dashboards, scoring, workflows, forms, and analytical experiences.
• Optimize data access across APIs, relational databases, caching layers, and analytical data sources.
• Develop React and TypeScript user interfaces, reusable components, and frontend data-flow patterns.
• Own features end to end through architecture, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience building production applications, including strong Java experience.
• 4+ years of experience with highly scalable software systems.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, REST or GraphQL services, SQL, and relational databases.
• Expertise in software quality and testing, including unit, integration, API, and frontend testing, plus at least 2 years with React.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, browser, accessibility, debugging, communication, and AI tooling skills.
