Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/React)

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $180,000–$230,000 annual base salary plus discretionary annual target bonus, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services and React frontend applications for real-time content delivery, monetization, and interactive web and mobile features.
• Build and integrate AI-powered agentic workflows using LLMs, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-step workflows.
• Collaborate with product teams to improve SEO, page speed, web performance, and content indexing.
• Instrument features, analyze outcomes, and iterate using analytics and experimentation data.
• Work with designers, product managers, editors, and other stakeholders to create user-centric media products.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with React, Node, TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Next for server-side rendering, content caching, and web performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with GCP, including Cloud Run, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Strong automated testing experience across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with AI agents, LLM integrations, analytics tooling, A/B testing, design systems, secure coding, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with large-scale content platforms or digital media and the ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to product vision.

Nice to have

• React Native experience for mobile applications.
• Sanity CMS or other headless CMS experience.
• Vercel deployment workflows, edge functions, and serverless architecture.
• Core Web Vitals, technical SEO auditing, and optimization experience.
• Experience integrating ad management systems, paywalls, or analytics tools into content platforms.
