Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Kotlin/TypeScript)

Location: Reston, Virginia, USA; employees may be required to work onsite at client locations in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area and spend at least 50% of each quarter in the office or field.

Salary: $137,000–$205,400 USD annual base salary for the primary location; additional U.S. locations range from $123,900–$222,000.

What you will do

• Build and maintain robust, efficient, testable frontend and backend software using Kotlin, TypeScript, Spring, WebFlux, Node, Express, React, and Cypress.
• Support customer-facing services in high-security air-gapped environments.
• Design and lead features with emphasis on scalability, performance, monitoring, security, usability, and quality.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX, design, research, and product development teams.
• Lead technical and functional discussions and mentor teammates.
• Improve products and build pipelines while troubleshooting escalated production issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required; TS/SCI with CI Poly may be required, and an active clearance is preferred.
• 7+ years of professional programming experience building enterprise-level software.
• Experience with Kotlin and/or Java, Spring Boot or similar JVM frameworks, and TypeScript for browser or Node environments.
• Experience supporting critical production services and using Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, and modern CI/CD systems.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, high-quality technical documentation, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Operations or DevOps team experience.
• Experience with hirify.global XpressO and Internal Code Lifecycle Development.
• Experience developing distributed, concurrent, secure, fault-tolerant, highly available, and scalable systems.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliance with at least IAT Level II certification, including a current CE credential and an approved specialty certification.
