System Engineer – Linux (Infrastructure) (Linux, Ansible, Puppet): Building and operating scalable Linux infrastructure for a high-volume email and cloud platform with an accent on bare-metal and virtualized servers, core network services, and infrastructure automation. Focus on developing reliable monitoring and logging systems, maintaining automation with Ansible and Puppet, and scripting infrastructure operations in Python and Bash.
Location: Karlsruhe or Munich, Germany; home office options and flexible working hours are available. A relocation service is available for people living outside Germany.

What you will do
- Build and manage primarily Debian-based Linux servers on bare-metal and virtualized platforms.
- Operate DNS, DHCP, PXE boot, proxy, and other core infrastructure services.
- Automate infrastructure tasks and configuration management with Ansible and Puppet.
- Develop and maintain operational scripts in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Improve monitoring and logging systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
Requirements
- Solid experience in Linux system administration and infrastructure operations.
- Proficiency with Ansible and Puppet for automation and configuration management.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, PXE, proxy systems, and scalable infrastructure.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- Collaborative, proactive approach and interest in building reliable infrastructure.
