IT Engineer

Location: Freiburg, Germany or San Francisco, United States; hybrid attendance of at least 2 days per week or one full week every other week, or remote work with a monthly in-person week.

Base annual salary: €95,000–€110,000 plus equity.

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of the all-macOS endpoint fleet, including purchasing, issuance, zero-touch setup, management, and retrieval.
• Complete the MDM migration and manage endpoint configuration across the fleet.
• Own identity and access across SaaS vendors and automate joiner-mover-leaver workflows using SSO, SCIM, provisioning, and de-provisioning.
• Build internal automation and infrastructure-as-code tooling to replace manual ClickOps and improve staff productivity.
• Implement identity, access, and endpoint security controls for workforce systems.
• Provide technical support in Freiburg and remotely for the San Francisco office, manage video conferencing equipment, and report on operational health.

Requirements

• Hands-on IT or corporate engineering experience in a fast-growing startup.
• Ability to act as the primary day-to-day IT contact.
• Experience with macOS fleet management, MDM such as Jamf, Apple Business Manager or ADE, and zero-touch provisioning.
• Identity and access administration with an IdP, including SSO/SAML and SCIM-based SaaS lifecycle automation.
• Scripting and automation experience with Python or shell, plus infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• A security-focused approach to workforce systems, endpoint access, and usability trade-offs.

Nice to have

• Experience running an MDM migration or standardizing an existing fleet.
