What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture of the React, Node.js/Express, Postgres, and AWS ECS platform.
• Drive the migration from JavaScript to TypeScript and establish engineering standards, tooling, and development patterns.
• Design ETL pipelines and a configuration-driven AI integration framework for reliable AI-powered features.
• Define and execute the technical strategy for integrating ML and AI models into the platform, including scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Lead design reviews, document architecture decisions, manage technical debt, and coordinate large technical initiatives.
• Mentor engineering leads and engineers while improving testing, observability, production support, incident response, and hiring practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years at senior or staff level.
• Deep production experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in full-stack environments.
• Strong knowledge of React, Node.js/Express, Postgres, and AWS, including distributed systems or data pipeline architecture.
• Significant experience architecting and deploying production-grade ML/AI systems, including LLM integration and model lifecycle management.
• Proven technical mentorship, architecture documentation, design reviews, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States and have U.S. work authorization for E-Verify employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare or regulated data environments, including HIPAA compliance and PHI handling.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, message queues, or streaming pipelines.
• Player-coach experience, including a previous engineering manager role and return to an individual contributor track.
• Open-source contributions, engineering blog posts, or conference talks.
