Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 per year plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Write, review, and ship production code that delivers customer and business outcomes.
• Own software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring reliability, maintainability, security, and scalability.
• Evaluate technical decisions and improve the enterprise software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and act as a technical resource for the broader team.
• Build demos, prototypes, examples, and technical content to support adoption of new technologies.
• Collaborate in person with engineers, designers, sales executives, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Direct experience with Python, Terraform, and AWS; advanced proficiency in Python, Terraform, and GCP.
• Experience with backend frameworks and technologies such as Node.js, NuxtJS, Express.js, or Python.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, programming languages, RPC technologies, and API architectures including REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, CI/CD tools, and source code versioning systems.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed application design.
• Experience building and scaling enterprise-grade applications with 99%+ service-level availability.
