Staff Software Engineer (Python)

Base salary: $190,000–$220,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Architect the incrementality product as a reliable, scalable experimentation platform.
• Set the technical direction for near-real-time data ingestion and processing beyond batch workflows.
• Define AI-powered workflows that help marketers evaluate performance and act on insights.
• Lead connection-state systems and the partner ecosystem for data ingestion and exports.
• Shape technical approaches for adjacent product areas, including role-based access control.
• Multiply the team through design reviews, mentorship, and improvements to engineering standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs, or data processing systems in Python.
• Deep experience owning system architecture and evaluating tradeoffs that emerge at scale.
• Experience partnering with product managers, designers, and data scientists to shape products.
• Experience in a startup or similarly broad, ambiguous, and fast-moving environment.
• Ability to investigate complex datasets and interconnected tables, trace dependencies, and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Working experience with React and TypeScript, plus mentoring experience and willingness to work across backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Extensive experience in data-intensive backend engineering combined with shipped frontend work.
• Experience resolving architecture questions without obvious answers.
