Location: Auckland, New Zealand. The role is based in the New Zealand office and requires eligibility to access equipment and data regulated by US ITAR.

What you will do
- Develop, plan, and execute qualification and functional test campaigns for Neutron avionics and flight safety components.
- Define and document test requirements with design engineers and external stakeholders.
- Develop and verify analytical and empirical models for electrical systems.
- Perform component risk analysis, failure mode analysis, design-for-test activities, and root-cause analysis of test anomalies.
- Build modular automated test architectures and Python-based software for test equipment, production systems, and units under test.
- Create data automation tools, reporting workflows, procedures, maintenance documentation, and calibration documentation for test systems.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience writing Python code.
- Strong attention to accuracy and precision, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation.
- For the New Zealand role, background and nationality checks apply because access to US ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required. Eligibility may depend on citizenship or nationality under ITAR rules.
Nice to have
- Experience with automated test equipment and test system development.
- Familiarity with C or C++.
- Knowledge of avionics systems and flight safety requirements.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Understanding of thermal, vacuum, and vibration testing environments.
- Previous avionics or test engineering internship or project experience.
