Senior Electrical Engineer, Systems (Spacecraft Avionics)

Location: Onsite in Centennial, Colorado or Long Beach, California, with travel to other sites as needed.

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 base salary for the Senior Electrical Engineer level, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own requirements decomposition, flow-down, and traceability from customer and program requirements to avionics subsystem and component specifications.
• Develop, maintain, and negotiate interface control documents across power, software, RF, payload, and other spacecraft systems.
• Act as the primary technical and programmatic interface between the Avionics Components team and the Program Office.
• Lead technical and programmatic trade studies across EPS, digital systems, FPGA, RF, and harness disciplines.
• Coordinate sprint planning, milestone tracking, schedules, roadmap planning, and technical risk mitigation.
• Prepare program documentation and represent avionics interests in engineering meetings, design reviews, and customer engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, avionics engineering, or a related technical program role.
• Experience with requirements decomposition, flow-down, traceability management, and interface control documents for electrical or avionics systems.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and the ability to work across digital systems, FPGA, EPS, RF, and harness disciplines.
• Experience with schedule development, milestone tracking, and sprint or agile planning for hardware programs.
• Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody.
• Familiarity with DOORS, Jama, Confluence, or similar requirements management tools.
• Experience with government or defense customers and military or defense acquisition specifications.
• Familiarity with spacecraft avionics architectures, including flight computers, EPS, RF communications, and harness design.
• Experience applying agile methodologies to hardware engineering programs or working in a fast-paced startup environment.
