Location: Boston, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year, base salary only

What you will do

  • Guide system development from requirements capture and design decisions through final demonstrations on existing general aviation aircraft.
  • Develop concepts of operation, functional and physical system architectures, requirements, and interfaces for Merlin products.
  • Coordinate safety, hardware, and software teams to document and communicate requirements and interfaces.
  • Manage systems engineering tasking and align engineering disciplines for timely completion.
  • Contribute to systems engineering development plans and processes.
  • Review engineering artifacts with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience in FAA, EASA, or DOD certification programs, or 6+ years with a master’s degree.
  • Experience solving complex architectural and systems engineering problems in a lead systems engineering capacity.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and processes, including system-level requirements development, validation, and verification.
  • Hands-on experience with integrated avionics equipment using ARP4754A/B and RTCA DO-178B/C for flight-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with general aviation aircraft and avionics integration.

Nice to have

  • General aviation aircraft integration experience, including Cessna Caravan.
  • Experience with Automatic Flight Controls, Flight Management, or Display Systems.
  • Experience developing software requirements and performing software verification.
  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA, or DOD regulations and standards, as well as Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Simulink, Cameo, IADS, or Jama.
