What you will do
- Perform chemical, physical, and material-property testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished nuclear fuel components.
- Receive, label, track, prepare, and store samples while maintaining traceability and safety compliance.
- Record test results in laboratory information systems and maintain complete, compliant data packages.
- Operate, check, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and report equipment issues.
- Document anomalies, trends, deviations, and sample variations to support investigations and quality improvement.
- Follow nuclear quality, radiation safety, criticality safety, and hazardous-material handling procedures.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field.
- 1–3+ years of laboratory experience in a regulated or high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques, measurement tools, and laboratory best practices.
- Strong documentation, data integrity, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and strict safety requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Nice to have
- Experience operating ICP-MS, XRF, DSC, IC, XRD, FTIR, or similar analytical instruments.
- Experience in nuclear, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or medical device sectors.
- Knowledge of NQA-1, ISO 17025, nuclear safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
- Experience collaborating with engineers and cross-disciplinary teams.
