Lead Technician (Defense)

Location: Huntington Beach, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $40–$52 per hour, plus equity

What you will do

• Fabricate, assemble, integrate, test, and finish components and systems for unmanned defense platforms.
• Support rapid prototype builds by adapting processes, collaborating with engineering, and documenting lessons learned.
• Support production builds by following controlled processes, maintaining repeatability, and meeting takt-time and delivery targets.
• Operate tools, machinery, equipment, and fixtures while interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Perform precision fitting, drilling, bonding, fastening, wiring, machining, inspections, and build troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior technicians and promote strong workmanship, safety, quality, and documentation practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of hands-on technical experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, marine, or a related industry.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances in controlled or specialized environments while wearing PPE.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment may be subject to U.S. export-control authorization requirements under EAR and ITAR.

Nice to have

• Experience in both prototype development and production environments.
• Familiarity with composites, avionics, mechanical assembly, integration, or testing.
• Experience troubleshooting build or integration issues.
• Knowledge of aerospace or defense quality standards and documentation practices.
• Previous experience mentoring or training technicians.
