Associate Manager, Private Markets

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — hybrid work model

What you will do

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly NAV calculations, capital call and distribution allocations, waterfall calculations, investment transactions, partner capital accounts, management fees, and carried interest.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and fund governing documents.
• Coordinate external audit processes and support compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a client contact and interpret Limited Partnership Agreements.
• Support onboarding of new funds, restructurings, process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations or upgrades.
• Oversee daily fund accounting operations, team coordination, internal controls, and risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in private equity or private markets fund accounting or audit.
• Experience reviewing NAVs and financial statements, with strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
• Experience interpreting partnership agreements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with staff and clients.
