Associate Equipment Development Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Batu Kawan, Malaysia; onsite at the Penang SDSM Office

What you will do

• Troubleshoot manufacturing machines and perform preventive maintenance.
• Generate and update FMEA documents, training materials, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Investigate line abnormalities, quality issues, and yield losses, and implement timely corrective actions.
• Lead key improvement projects focused on machine performance, cost, yield, quality, capacity, and productivity.
• Collaborate with Process and NPI teams on machine- and product-related activities.
• Conduct machine and tooling buy-offs, standardization, customer-audit follow-up, and 8D presentations for QAF/RMA cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in equipment engineering processes or a related area.
• Knowledge of machine and mechanical design and optimization.
• Expertise in data analysis and problem solving, including 7 QC tools, MSA, SPC, 8D, and DOE.
• Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, JMP, AutoCAD, or similar reporting and data-analysis tools.
• Good verbal and written English is required. Ability to work independently and with multifunctional teams is also required.
