What you will do

  • Own avionics components and subsystems for the Neutron launch vehicle from concept through production readiness.
  • Gather requirements, prototype, capture schematics, design PCBs, bring up boards, integrate hardware, test systems, and support production implementation.
  • Design and test digital, power, and analog sensing circuits for harsh aerospace environments.
  • Develop and execute test campaigns for avionics components, computing modules, and high-voltage systems.
  • Create test automation software in Python and C/C++ for units under test, automated test equipment, and production ERP systems.
  • Perform FMECA, derating, root-cause analysis, risk assessments, engineering reviews, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, interfaces, sensors, power supplies, serial devices, switch topologies, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and 4–20 mA sensors.
  • Hands-on experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, DMMs, function generators, and process calibrators.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, independent ownership, and structured problem-solving.
  • For New Zealand roles, background and nationality checks apply; eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required. Eligible nationalities include Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, European Union countries, and NATO countries, subject to applicable restrictions.

Nice to have

  • Environmental testing experience, including vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, and TVAC.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer.
  • Programming experience with Python, C, and C++.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on real aerospace hardware and meaningful space missions.
  • Collaborate across engineering and program teams on the Neutron launch vehicle.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a strong focus on execution.
