Controls Technician

Location: McCarran, Nevada, United States; split between the office and production facility with extended periods in production areas.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Fabricate, modify, and upgrade electrical control panels according to engineering specifications and safety standards.
• Perform field wiring for instrumentation and motor controls, including installations, calibrations, fault diagnosis, and repairs.
• Interpret P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical documentation during advanced troubleshooting and system analysis.
• Support equipment commissioning, process improvements, and system upgrades in collaboration with engineering and operations.
• Document control logic, wiring diagrams, calibration data, and completed maintenance work while following safety and compliance protocols.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or instrumentation in a manufacturing or process environment.
• Proficiency troubleshooting and repairing PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial sensors.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience fabricating and wiring control panels, motor controls, and instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and mechanical systems, calibration procedures, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work in industrial conditions with noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, and PPE including Tyvek suits and PAPR. The role requires standing and lifting or carrying equipment up to 50 lbs.
