Operations Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada

Salary: CAD 100,000–120,000 per year, plus performance-based compensation tied to verified operational impact.

What you will do

• Build automation, internal tools, scripts, integrations, and workflow systems for Customer Operations and Customer Delivery.
• Work with operational stakeholders to understand workflows, identify bottlenecks, and prioritize high-impact automation opportunities.
• Use APIs, scripting, workflow automation platforms, internal systems, and AI-assisted capabilities where appropriate.
• Translate operational pain points into reliable, maintainable, and adoptable technical solutions.
• Define and communicate success metrics such as time saved, process consistency, quality improvements, and reduced manual effort.
• Create reusable automation patterns and establish a repeatable process for identifying, building, validating, measuring, and scaling automation.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience in software development, automation engineering, technical operations, solutions engineering, support engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, SQL, APIs, workflow automation platforms, or internal tooling frameworks.
• Ability to understand operational workflows and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Strong engineering judgment, business awareness, communication skills, and comfort working with non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to evaluate when AI, agents, or LLM-based tools are appropriate and when a simpler solution is better.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tools or automations for operations, support, customer success, finance, or delivery teams.
• Experience with n8n, Zapier, Make, Retool, Airplane, or similar workflow automation platforms.
• Experience integrating SaaS tools, internal APIs, data warehouses, or ticketing systems.
• Experience using AI tools or LLMs to improve operational workflows.
• Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
