Senior Validation & Tools Engineer - Web & Cloud (IoT)

Location: Palo Alto, United States; on-site

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain manual and automated test suites covering e-commerce, account creation, cloud connectivity, and the full digital user journey.
• Create automation frameworks for web UI, APIs, and cloud integrations.
• Design and execute end-to-end validation across vehicle, firmware, cloud, and user interfaces.
• Build dashboards and analytics for vehicle telemetry and OTA update metrics.
• Identify, reproduce, triage, and resolve defects with developers and product managers, including root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to CI/CD testing pipelines and manage automated SIL and HIL test environments.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software validation and hands-on programming, including embedded software or firmware development.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and cloud systems using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Postman.
• Strong Python or similar programming skills for automation and data validation.
• Experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud ecosystem, end-to-end testing, and CI/CD workflows such as Jenkins.
• Knowledge of IoT testing, UDS or XCP, CAN/CAN-FD, USB-PD, real-time operating systems, and hardware/software architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience with vertically integrated consumer products.
• Automotive systems experience.
• Exposure to OTA stress testing, data upload validation, and downstream data integrity.
• Experience with functional-safety-critical applications and hardware/software cost-performance tradeoffs.
