Construction Manager (Utility-Scale Solar and BESS)

Location: US, Flexible, VA; generally on site five days a week with travel required

Salary: $108,000–$135,150 per year, plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Manage on-site construction of utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System projects delivered by third-party EPC contractors.
• Monitor project execution against schedules, budgets, scopes of work, permits, contracts, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate safety, environmental, QA/QC, commissioning, and construction activities, including daily safety walks and milestone sign-offs.
• Manage communications with landowners, EPC contractors, regulators, authorities having jurisdiction, and internal project teams.
• Review change orders, invoices, progress reports, deliverables, and contractor documentation.
• Track risks, schedule remediation, punch lists, project closeout, and construction quality through completion.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of on-site utility-scale solar, battery storage, and/or substation construction management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of solar construction management processes, construction methods, building products, regulations, and quality standards.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; extensive knowledge of Procore is expected, while additional Procore experience is listed as a plus.
• Ability to work in varying climates, conduct physically rigorous site inspections, and walk construction sites as required.
• Willingness to travel and work on site five days per week in the US, Flexible, VA.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• FAA Part 107 license.
• Experience operating drones for construction progress photography.
• Experience with Google Earth.
