Manager, Operations Solar & BESS Engineering (Solar & BESS)

Location: Hybrid position based in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States; travel up to 40% may be required.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 USD annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual cash bonus.

What you will do

• Lead Operations Engineering support for solar PV and BESS assets across the operating fleet.
• Drive reliability improvements, corrective actions, root cause analysis, systems testing, and performance optimization.
• Provide technical leadership for solar modules, inverters, trackers, BESS controls, and battery energy management systems.
• Develop technical specifications, operating procedures, testing checklists, knowledge databases, and fleetwide lessons learned.
• Support construction turnover, acquisitions, warranties, insurance claims, vendor performance, equipment replacements, repowering, and battery augmentation.
• Manage, coach, and develop engineers and technical contributors while coordinating cross-functional technical workstreams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Systems, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in renewable energy, energy storage, power systems, plant operations, equipment reliability, or a related industry.
• Experience leading engineers, managing technical programs, or coordinating cross-functional technical workstreams.
• Advanced knowledge of solar PV and BESS operation, maintenance, controls, performance, and reliability.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical manuals, test reports, control diagrams, communication drawings, and plant layouts.
• Knowledge of real and reactive power support, load flow analysis, and applicable UL and NFPA standards.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional engineering credentials.
• Experience with ETAP, PSCAD, LabVIEW, or similar software tools.
