Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada

Salary: CA$184,000–CA$314,000/year base compensation; expected OTE of CA$204,000–CA$348,000/year.

What you will do

• Lead high-impact initiatives across AI Decisioning products, including agent setup, creative and launch workflows, reporting, and ML pipeline integrations.
• Build full-stack experiences from dashboard interfaces to data models, APIs, background jobs, and backend services.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and ML Engineering to turn the AI roadmap into reliable, intuitive software.
• Lead web application architecture initiatives focused on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Influence product strategy and roadmap through technical insights and user experience improvements.
• Mentor engineers and support teams implementing hirify.global’s AI solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a strong record of delivering impact.
• Strong full-stack development skills, including data models, APIs, background jobs, and end-to-end product ownership.
• Strong frontend development experience with TypeScript and React; Vue is a plus.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable web application architectures.
• Expertise with AI coding agents, reusable development skills, and automation.
• Clear written and verbal communication, technical decision-making, user-centric design, and experience mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience building user experiences for machine learning and data-intensive applications.
• Experience with LLM product surfaces, embeddings, agent orchestration, and evaluation.
• Experience with Python and/or Ruby on Rails.
