Staff Product Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Salary: $250,000–$400,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build the product surface for AI agents that create, run, and supervise real insurance work.
• Develop agent-authoring tools, chat assistants, human-in-the-loop supervision, and multimodal experiences.
• Build interfaces for assistants that read documents, retrieve information from existing systems, reason across data, and take actions.
• Design experiences for long-running agents that wait for emails, make phone calls, and hand control back to people.
• Own features end to end, from idea through launch, across React/TypeScript and Python.
• Set the quality bar and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production full-stack software and customer-facing products.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Python on the backend.
• Strong product and UX judgment.
• Ability to turn ambiguous ideas into shipped features.
• Clear written and in-person communication.
• Drive, grit, and ownership.

Nice to have

• Production experience building LLM or agent features.
• B2B SaaS experience.
• 0-to-1 or early-stage company experience.
