Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote within the United States; the role participates in a shared US-business-hours on-call rotation. Hub locations include San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago, but this role can be performed from anywhere in the country.

Annual base pay: $181,000–$220,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City; $157,000–$195,000 in all other US locations.

What you will do

• Operate and optimize Snowflake in production, including warehouse consumption, cost monitoring, RBAC, metadata tagging, and query-performance troubleshooting.
• Build and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as code with Terraform and deploy it through GitOps using ArgoCD.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery with GitHub Actions or comparable tools.
• Improve infrastructure performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency through FinOps, resource tagging, and cost attribution.
• Strengthen IAM, RBAC, networking, secrets management, observability, and compliance alignment with HIPAA and SOC2.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and security teams while participating in the shared US-business-hours on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Production experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse, including SQL, warehouse operations, and query-performance fundamentals.
• Production experience building and operating secure, cost-conscious AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code proficiency with Terraform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, scripting in Python, Go, or Bash, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or AWS Bedrock, including validation of generated output before production use.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Advanced Snowflake administration, SQL, warehouse internals, clustering, partitioning, caching, and execution plans.
• Experience with Spark, Airflow, dbt, FinOps, data governance, HIPAA, or SOC2.
