DevOps Engineer III (AWS)

Location: Remote within the United States. U.S. citizenship or current legal authorization to work and reside in the United States without employer sponsorship is required, along with the ability to complete and maintain any required government background investigation.

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Collaborate across teams to consolidate and simplify DevOps tools, services, and operational architecture.
• Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure supporting applications and improving developer experience.
• Develop infrastructure libraries, modules, packages, and automated deployment workflows.
• Build application test and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, and related tooling.
• Integrate security, quality, static analysis, and vulnerability controls into delivery pipelines.
• Support stakeholders and application teams in meeting security, SLA, performance, scope, and delivery requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
• Production experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, containerization, virtualization, networking, and load balancing or reverse proxies.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Comfort working in Linux environments, including shell scripting, systemd, networking basics, and package management.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain infrastructure decisions and tradeoffs.
• Ability to participate in business-hours DevOps support rotation and after-hours on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terragrunt, Argo CD, Argo Workflows, GitOps, HAProxy, OpenResty, NGINX, Envoy, or Kong.
• Proficiency in Go, Bash, Python, or another scripting or programming language.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, federal IT compliance, ATO processes, FedRAMP, or STIGs.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, golden-path tooling, or observability stacks such as Datadog and CloudWatch.
