Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote within the United States, with PST working hours

Salary: $150,000–$240,000 annually, depending on location, experience, and scope; equity included

What you will do

• Architect and scale AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure across growing usage and engineering teams.
• Design zero-downtime deployment strategies with automated rollback.
• Build and maintain Terraform modules for infrastructure changes.
• Lead capacity planning, performance optimization, and production cost management.
• Implement observability with Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch.
• Manage GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, networking, traffic routing, load balancing, and DNS.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Deep AWS expertise, including EKS, VPC, S3, RDS/Aurora, and the Well-Architected Framework.
• Production Kubernetes administration, multi-environment management, and Terraform module and state management.
• Experience with Helm, Karpenter, GitHub Actions, and automated zero-downtime deployments.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing.
• Automation experience with Python, Go, Bash, or similar, plus experience with async job processing and message queues at scale.

Nice to have

• Experience designing alerting strategies, on-call runbooks, service-health dashboards, and custom application metrics.
• Database monitoring experience with RDS Postgres and application performance profiling.
• Experience with Cloudflare WAF, Okta SSO, and RBAC across AWS and Kubernetes.
