TL;DR
Electrical Engineer II (Spacecraft Electrical Systems): Designing, testing, and integrating high-reliability electrical systems for spacecraft across the full hardware development lifecycle with an accent on PCB design, power and avionics interfaces, and production readiness. Focus on conducting derating and worst-case circuit analysis, validating flight hardware, and supporting integration, manufacturing, and launch.

Location: Onsite at the Centennial, Colorado location, with travel to other sites as needed.

Base salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Execute electrical hardware development from requirements capture and component selection through schematic design, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Design and test high-reliability electrical systems for spacecraft programs.
  • Collaborate with systems architecture and cross-functional engineering teams, including hardware and software integration.
  • Perform derating analysis, worst-case circuit analysis, design reviews, and system-level integration.
  • Conduct first article, unit-level, production, validation, and qualification testing.
  • Develop electrical-system specifications, test plans, operating procedures, and other technical documentation while supporting production, integration, and launch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with PCB design using Altium Designer or an equivalent tool.
  • Understanding of applicable PCB and PCBA design codes and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance and meet U.S. space-technology export requirements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Spacecraft electrical-system design and testing experience, including power systems, avionics, or communications subsystems.
  • Embedded firmware development experience.
  • Experience with SPICE, MATLAB, or Simulink.
  • Knowledge of IPC-610, IPC J-STD-001, and other PCB design and assembly standards, plus experience in a startup or similarly dynamic environment.
