Company

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing payloads, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses.

What you will do

  • Define project scopes and initial requirements with cross-functional engineering teams, guiding avionics designs from concept through prototype and production.
  • Develop electrical architectures, system diagrams, and power, telemetry, channel-count, size, and mass budgets.
  • Analyze avionics architectures for faults and risks, develop mitigation plans, and support FDIR and operational workarounds.
  • Create verification plans and conduct system testing on flight and hardware-in-the-loop hardware.
  • Support mission operations as an avionics specialist or system operator, assessing system health and recommending corrective actions and reentry commit criteria.
  • Integrate Winnebago avionics systems, build HITL testbeds and ground infrastructure, improve test automation, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
  • Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python.
  • Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4–20 mA devices, and general test equipment.
  • U.S. work authorization and U.S. person status are required because the role involves access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

  • Experience taking vehicle electrical systems from concept to operational production.
  • Experience setting up HITL testbeds, managing configuration control, and conducting system-level tests.
  • Familiarity with Unix environments and command-line utilities.
  • Experience developing test cases and equipment for vehicle operating conditions.
  • Project or program management experience, or prior work in avionics hardware, FPGA engineering, electronics testing, or electrical systems engineering.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with flexible PTO and 12 paid holidays.
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, with FSA and employer-matched HSA options.
  • Parental leave, family-building benefits, wellness reimbursement, and sponsored One Medical memberships.
  • 401(k) plan with a 6% employer match and immediate vesting, plus equity incentives.
  • Relocation support may be available for new hires.
  • Daily lunch, twice-weekly dinner, team events, EV charging, and a stocked kitchen.
