Engineering Manager for Enrollment (React Native)

Location: San Francisco HQ; hybrid work with required office attendance 3 days per week

Salary: $212,000–$318,000 annual salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead a team of approximately six engineers working in the primary React Native mobile codebase.
• Own the Enrollment surface end-to-end and migrate the web-only funnel to a mobile-first experience.
• Build Enrollment as a reusable platform with extension patterns, APIs, and guardrails for other product teams.
• Design and manage A/B experiments to improve enrollment conversion, lifecycle engagement, and reactivation.
• Establish best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, client performance, and operational reliability.
• Define the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing a team of approximately five or more engineers in a product-focused environment.
• Strong React Native, mobile, or client-side engineering experience, or equivalent BFF/full-stack web experience delivering member-facing interfaces at scale.
• Experience owning a major product surface from architecture and UX through experimentation and production reliability.
• Ability to design, run, and interpret A/B experiments, including sample sizes, interference effects, and decision rules.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of React Native, GraphQL, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, AWS services, and modern DevOps practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with large React Native codebases, client performance, render optimization, and app architecture.
• Familiarity with server-driven UI patterns and client/server presentation trade-offs.
• Experience using AI-native development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Experience operating shared product platforms, working with GraphQL caching and BFF patterns, or working in healthcare, HIPAA, or other regulated environments.
