What you will do

• Lead the Reconciliation team responsible for transaction matching, offer reconciliation, post-claim consumer experiences, and self-healing capabilities.
• Drive accuracy, reliability, observability, scalability, security, and production readiness across the reconciliation stack.
• Act as a player-coach by contributing to high-leverage technical work and modeling effective use of AI in development, debugging, and system understanding.
• Coach engineers, support career growth, and build a safe, collaborative, high-performing team of approximately 6–8 direct reports.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Consumer Operations, and other engineering leaders on roadmap, organizational, and technical strategy.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience and a strong record of team growth and systems improvement.
• Technical depth across mobile and distributed API systems, including serverless, event-driven, REST, and microservices patterns.
• Ability to work across Kotlin Multiplatform front-end systems and Python and Java back-end services.
• Experience with back-end data tools such as Snowflake and Hex; AWS experience is valuable.
• Strong judgment, clarity in decision-making, and comfort leading through ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
• Ability to work from the Austin, Chicago, Washington, DC, or New York office with required attendance three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in mobile or distributed API domains.
• Familiarity with MVI and Clean Architecture.
• Curiosity about generative AI and its use in engineering workflows.
