TL;DR
International Logistics Operations Specialist (Global Freight Operations): Managing U.S. import and export flows across air, ocean, drayage, transload, and trucking with an accent on cost efficiency, transit performance, trade compliance, and shipment visibility. Focus on optimizing transportation lanes, analyzing door-to-door cost drivers, resolving operational exceptions, and implementing Lean-based process improvements.

Location: Davidson, North Carolina, United States. Hybrid schedule: onsite Monday through Thursday; Friday work location is flexible.

Annual base salary: $56,300.00–$101,394.99 USD.

What you will do

  • Manage day-to-day U.S. import and export logistics from origin coordination through final delivery.
  • Optimize air, ocean, drayage, transload, and trucking transportation lanes for cost, transit performance, and service quality.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Materials, Trade Compliance, brokers, NVOCCs, carriers, and internal business units.
  • Track shipments, manage exceptions, resolve trade compliance issues, and support timely delivery.
  • Analyze costs, freight allocation, KPIs, operating conditions, and root causes of operational issues.
  • Develop SOPs, support freight bill audit and payment processes, and implement technology and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, customs formalities, and air, ocean, and drayage rate structures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of service in logistics operations.
  • Experience with Lean methodologies or willingness to learn and apply Lean methods.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
