What you will do
- Define functional and performance requirements for PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, motor controllers, VFDs, safety devices, and field instrumentation.
- Review vendor selections, logic, HMI designs, drawings, wiring packages, and technical deliverables.
- Integrate electrical, instrumentation, automation, communications, networks, and field devices into cohesive control architectures.
- Support fabrication, installation, wiring, commissioning, startup, FAT, SAT, loop checks, and operational troubleshooting.
- Manage component lifecycles, substitutes, configuration control, as-built documentation, and long-term maintainability.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, electricians, technicians, fabricators, and internal stakeholders to meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on or field-facing experience with industrial electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Practical experience with PLC-based systems such as Siemens or Allen-Bradley, including logic review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of industrial electronics, instrumentation, and low-voltage power distribution.
- Experience working with vendors, integrators, technicians, and installers in commissioning or operational environments.
- Experience in nuclear, oil and gas, chemical processing, or another highly regulated, safety-critical industry; knowledge of Modbus, TCP/IP, Profinet, or Ethernet/IP.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with industrial control system cybersecurity concepts and IEC 62443.
