Director, Value Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Forecast potential value and construct customer baselines using benchmarks, financial data, discovery interviews, and value drivers.
• Develop industry-specific value propositions and strategic plans that address customer business challenges.
• Translate operational pain points and KPIs into financial impacts and persuasive narratives for executive stakeholders.
• Review business cases and proposals for key deals, supporting solution quality and win rates through the Command of the Message framework.
• Track realized value after implementation, share customer successes, and support further adoption and expansion.
• Standardize value methodologies and establish customer value as a common internal language.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience as a Value Engineer or Value Consultant at a software vendor, or in management or operations consulting at a top-tier consulting firm.
• Strong ability to quantify IT/OT solution value using financial data, interviews, and appropriate value drivers.
• Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, research ability, and executive communication.
• Ability to adapt global tools and methodologies to Japanese business practices and customer characteristics.
• Business-level fluency in Japanese and English is required.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience in or consulting for Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Power/Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, or Manufacturing.
• Strong executive presence and experience communicating complex technical value to C-suite stakeholders.
• Experience delivering results in fast-paced, ambiguous projects.
• Experience in a Series A, B, or C startup environment.
