Production Support Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Onsite at the Bothell, Washington, United States office. Travel up to 10%, domestic or international. U.S. Person status or applicable export-control authorization may be required.

Salary: $99,782–$143,083 USD per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide real-time engineering support to production technicians during assembly, integration, and testing.
• Investigate hardware failures, component fit and function issues, and non-conformances; determine rework, scrap, or MRB escalation paths.
• Review and update assembly documentation, SOPs, and build logs when production discrepancies are identified.
• Design, procure, and improve fixtures, jigs, shop aids, calibrated tooling, and specialized equipment.
• Translate production-floor issues into actionable design-for-manufacturability feedback for Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Document NCRs, track quality trends, and support technician onboarding and training for delicate hardware handling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in a hands-on production, manufacturing, or hardware development environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues in a high-tech manufacturing setting.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, and GD&T.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with production technicians and engineering teams.
• Must satisfy applicable U.S. export-control and government-contract eligibility requirements, including U.S. Person status or required authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-precision assemblies, optomechanical builds, fiber optics, or ultra-high vacuum systems.
• Experience independently resolving hardware failures with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in Class 100 to 10,000 cleanroom environments.
• Familiarity with CAD, PLM, and ERP/MRP systems.
