TL;DR
Associate Product Engineer (Cryogenic Quantum Hardware): Building, assembling, troubleshooting, and validating cryogenic pre-production systems and subassemblies with an accent on hardware execution, manufacturing support, and product quality. Focus on investigating root causes, implementing engineering changes, analyzing production and test data, and supporting prototype builds and new product introduction.

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; hands-on work is performed on the production floor and in engineering and production environments.

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year, plus performance bonuses and equity options. Exempt position with possible weekend work and hours beyond a standard day shift.

What you will do

  • Build, assemble, troubleshoot, and validate cryogenic pre-production systems and subassemblies.
  • Create assembly documentation, work instructions, and engineering records, and train technicians on revised instructions.
  • Support engineering change implementation, documentation updates, product releases, prototype builds, and product validation.
  • Investigate product, manufacturing, and test issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Analyze production and test data to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain while developing ownership of assigned assemblies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, undergraduate research, or relevant project work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in both engineering and production environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Onshape and GD&T standards.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, mechanical assemblies, laboratory equipment, instrumentation, or manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to vacuum systems, cryogenics, thermal systems, or precision electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with Excel, Python, or MATLAB for data analysis.
