Instrumentation Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada

Salary: $24.43–$42.74 CAD per hour, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

Advanced manufacturing operations produce active pharmaceutical ingredients and other therapeutics through microbial fermentation, synthetic small-molecule production, plasmid DNA, mRNA, LNP, and sterile filling.

What you will do

• Inspect, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair process instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and instrumentation-related equipment failures.
• Install, commission, and validate transmitters, sensors, analyzers, load cells, control valves, and related devices.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and distributed control system troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Investigate process alarms and equipment malfunctions while completing maintenance and calibration documentation.
• Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance, plant shutdowns, startups, commissioning, capital projects, and reliability initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma in Instrumentation Technician studies or a related field.
• At least 2 years of related experience, including at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with industrial process instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving instrumentation, electrical systems, PLCs, and automation equipment.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, instrument loop drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with calibration equipment and maintenance software such as CMMS.

Nice to have

• Instrumentation Technician Red Seal Certification.
