Associate Field Engineer (AV)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Primarily jobsite-based with some office work and frequent travel; the role requires standing for most of the day, lifting up to 40 lbs, and climbing ladders and stairs.

Salary: CAD 31.66–40.29 per hour.

What you will do

• Commission AV systems at client sites, optimize equipment settings, and verify performance against project scope and drawings.
• Document system changes through redlines, complete project quality checklists, and archive configuration and programming files.
• Pre-commission systems in the office and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot AV and network issues by tracing signal flow and coordinating with relevant technical teams.
• Configure AV networks, coordinate client networks, and create or modify DSP files for typical systems.
• Optimize AEC for videoconferencing and coordinate control objects with programmers while sharing lessons learned with installation, design, and pre-sales engineering teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Approximately three years of relevant industry, field installation, or systems design experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex AV and network systems, with strong familiarity with MTR and Zoom Rooms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and provide good customer service.
• Ability to meet jobsite physical requirements and travel frequently.

Nice to have

• DSP certification from Biamp, QSC, or BSS.
• Control certification from QSC, Extron, or Crestron.
• Broadcast or hybrid conference and live-event systems experience.
• Extron AVE Associate, Audinate Dante Level 3, Biamp Tesira Server, Q-SYS Level 2 and Control 201, Extron Certified Control Professional, Shure Integrated Systems Level 1, or AVIXA CTS.
